Aeno-gastronomical paths

The idea of aeno-gastronomical paths that, in the last few years, has had an important role to let the visitors know typical local disches, ploughed in nature wonderful places and old flavours and tastes, has involved also Capo di Ponte’s territory, become seat of two important aeno-gastronomical events:
-          4 Porte 4 Piazze in Cemmo, hamlet of Capo di Ponte, permit to discover the past and beuty of a full of tradition and history hamlet. During it, it is possible to visit in “night-light” the National Archaeological Park fo Massi di Cemmo.
-          Nel Bosco degli alberi del pane is an aeno-gastronomical path through the chestnut woods of the rock engravings in the Musicipalities of Ceto, Capo di Ponte, Paspardo and Cimbergo

Wines
The cultivation of vines in Capo di Ponte and Valle Camonica was, in the past, very diffuse but with the birth of industries the agriculture ,an consequently the vineyards, was a bit left aside.
But during the last years the production of wine ha s been rediscovered and has become a real passion. A lot of wines have been indicated as IGT “Valle Camonica”, that is Typical Geographic Indication, also to the creation of a union.

CHESTNUT

Chestnut

The chestnut is a precious fruit not only for Capo di Ponte, but for Valle Camonica in general. From its we can in fact obtain a lot of different products: flour, honey, biscuits, ales. Not too far from the territory of Capo di Ponte, precisely in Paspardo, has seat the “Consorzio della Castagna di Valle Camonica” (that is Valle Camonica’s chestnut Union): its aim is to give valve to the chestnut woods of the valley and to diffuse the knowledge of these fruits, their taste and their qualities.

HONEY

Honey

Capo di Ponte and Valle Camonica in general are known also for the production of honey whose qualities are renowned: chestnut honey, rhododendrom honey, thousand flowers honey with their almost curative powers against winter illnesses. Sweet and thick Valle Camonica’s honey will conquer with its taste also the most exigent ones.

Cheese

Cheese

The production of cheeses is a typical element of Valle Camonica and, in particular, of Capo di Ponte where we can find also an important dairy, know also outside the Valley. Different cheeses seasoned or fresh, whole and pasteurized milk are some of the products realized and sold in the territory. Pure air and clean pastures help the quality of the milk used in the production. Recently thanks to to Comunità Montana of Valle Camonica and Comunità Montana of Sebino Bresciano has been instituted the Union of the producers of Silter cheese (Consorzio per la tutela del formaggio Silter).

Silter is a sweet, yellow cheese whose taste is. Appreciated also by the most exigent ones.
